Severely wounded at Gallipoli during the August 1915 fighting, gun shot to the side of the head which removed most of his ear and caused hearing problems and other complications. Rejoined the Light Horse in the desert campaign and killed in action near Beersheba on 3 November 1917. Born in England,he came out to Australia in about 1911. His brother filled out his Roll of Honour form, W. Williams, a Lieutenant of the 10th Battalion Manchester Regiment.
