Corporal Violet Rebecca Harvey (Service No:99154) served in the RAAF from 29 April 1941 - enlisted at No 3 Recruiting Centre Brisbane as an Aircraftwoman 1 (Mustered as Trainee Cook). Promoted to Corporal - mustered as Cook - Corporal Dolby was stationed at Amberley, Sandgate and Townsville, and was attached to 3 Aircraft Depot Amberley at Discharge on 14 January 1946. Younger brother  Kenneth served as Deck Boy with the Australian Merchant Marines on board HMAS Cerberus.

Violet was born in Northumberland, England in 1922, eldest of four children of Hubert Armstrong Harvey (b1899 in Cumberland, England) and Mary Ann Fenney (b1900 in Durham, England). Hubert (a Journalist) and Mary Ann married in 1920 in Northumberland. In 1926 Hubert, Mary Ann and Violet immigrated, arriving in Brisbane QLD on board the Themistocles. The family lived in Brisbane (Virginia and Wooloowin) and settled in Manly in the 1930s. Hubert was a Journalist.

Violet worked as a Machinist in Manly, Brisbane before enlisting in the RAAF. In 1947 in Brisbane, Violet married Neville Charles Dolby (b1922 in Brisbane, QLD) - Neville worked in Manly as a Carrier/Motor Driver before enlisting in the Army in 1942. Violet and Neville lived Manly, where Neville was Storeman and Packer, before moving to Bulolo, New Guinea in the 1950s - Neville was Store Manager for Burns Philp (NG). Returning to Brisbane in the early 1960s, Violet and Neville settled in Wynnum, where Neville worked as a Van Salesman and Clerk. Violet died in 1994 and Neville in 2007.
