Biography contributed by Chris Buckley

Leading Aircraftman Andrew Keith Glasse (Service No:62941) served in the Militia (1939/1942) as a Signaller with 1 Anti Aircraft Brigade prior to enlisting in the RAAF on 16 March 1942 at No 2 Recruiting Centre Sydney as an Aircraftman I. ACI Glasse - mustered as Armourer and remustered as Armourer Fitter - served with 22 Squadron, and was a Leading Aircraftman attached to 6 Aircraft Depot Oakey QLD at Discharge on 26 November 1945.

Keith was born in Inverell, New South Wales in 1912, youngest of two children of Andrew James Glasse (b1882 in Fifeshire, Scotland) and Harriet Montgomery (b1879 in Hamilton, Victoria). Andrew immigrated with his parents and siblings in 1891 on board the Braunschweig, and was a Carpenter in Inverell when he and Harriet married in Casino in 1907. They settled in Inverell, where they raised their family and Andrew was a Carpenter. In the 1920s the family moved to Milson's Point in Sydney, where Andrew worked as a Carpenter.

Keith was a member of the North Sydney Rugby League football team, and worked as a Wages Clerk in Sydney for the Australian Gaslight Coy. In 1942 in Sydney, Keith married Jean Ronald (b1912 in Sydney, New South Wales) - Jean was a Typist in Sydney. Following his Discharge from the RAAF, Keith and Jean settled in Sydney, where they raised their family and Keith worked as a Clerk until retirement. Jean died in 1998 and Keith in 2002.
