Vincent falsified his date of birth on his Attestation paper stating incorrectly as 14 February 1896 correct date is actually 18 August 1901.

Son of Frederick O'Neill and Adelaide Margaret O'Neill nee Sutcliffe of Mitchell Street, Townsville, QLD.

Brother of Lionel Arthur O'Neill who returned to Australia on 27 November 1919 having served with the 41st Battalion and Clarence Frederick (Clarrie) O'Neill who served in WW2 and died of illness at Sandakan POW Camp, Borneo, Malaysia and has no known grave. His name appears on the Labuan Memorial, Panel 30.

Commenced return to Australia on 6 September 1919 aboard HT Euripides disembarking on 24 October 1919 at Sydney for onward travel to Brisbane
