Francis's parents were Joseph Bradbury and Marcella Meehan and Francis attended Humpybong State School. Francis was a Stationmaster in Brisbane and aged 22 at embarkation. At the time of enlistment, Francis's mother lived at Woody Point. Francis was mentioned in Despatches. He married Ivy Coley Beaumont in 1920 and worked as a Stationmaster for many years.
