Leading Aircraftman John Leonard Arthur Jones (Service No:80909) enlisted in the RAAF on 8 June 1942 and was attached to 27 Air Stores Park when he was Discharged on 29 January 1946.
John was born in 1918 in Geraldton WA to John Roderick Francis Jones (b1888 in Geraldton, WA) and Ethel Florence Ward (b1892 in London, England). John Snr (a Labourer) and Ethel (a Waitress) were both working in Pindar WA when they married in 1916 in Geraldton. John Snr and Ethel lived at Pindar and Mt Palmer where John Snr was a Teamster, Carrier and Sheep Farmer. The couple retired to Darlington at Mundaring WA in the late 1940s.
Following his Discharge from the RAAF in 1946, John settled in Perth WA where he married Margaret Campbell (b1924 in Perth, WA). Initially a Trainee, John worked as a Civil Servant (Technician) in Perth where he and Margaret raised their family. John died in 2006 and Margaret in 2008.
