Flying Officer Keith Hanton (Service No:12525) enlisted in the RAAF on 20 December 1940 as an Aircraftman I - mustered as Nursing Orderly. Commissioned on 22 May 1943, Flying Officer Hanton served in New Guinea (18 June 1943 - 10 October 1944) with 16 Stores Unit and 27 Air Stores Parks in Port Moresby, Goodenough, Kiriwina, Los Negros and Noemfoor. Flying Officer Hanton was attached to 1 Base Medical Stores when he was Discharged on 26 November 1945.

Born in 1920 in Frankston Victoria, Keith was the youngest of three children of William Mark Hanton (b1878 in Adelaide, South Australia) and Ellen Clement Alland (b1883 in Maryborough, Victoria) William (a Clerk in Melbourne, Victoria) and Ellen married in 1907 in Melbourne, Victoria. By 1912 the couple had settled in Frankston where William was an Orchardist and Gardener. William served in WWI (Private; Service No:1875) and in WWII (Private; Service No:V358616).

Keith studied at the Victorian College of Pharmacy and was an apprentice Pharmacist in 1940 when he enlisted in the RAAF - he passed his final exam as a Pharmacist in 1941 when he was in Parkes, NSW with the RAAF. In 1944 in Frankston Victoria, Keith married Betty Enid Scully (b1922 in Frankston, Victoria). Following his Discharge in 1945, Keith and Betty lived in Easternwick and Frankston where Keith was a Pharmacist/Chemist. Keith died in 1992 and Betty in 2015.
