Kens Short WW2 History
My father Kens most worrying mission was the bombing raid on Malley de Camp 1944 where he told me he counted at least 4 Lancasters going down in flames, Ken also did 2 missions on D Day 1944 bombing Point Du Hoc early morning overlooking Omaha Beach where there are many bomb craters still there, and a mission in the afternoon bombing behind the Bridgehead as the Allies made advances, Ken was deemed medically unfit after 21 missions, which he told me resulted from motion sickness in the tail section which he said was like going up and down in a lift all the time, bad ulcers for the rest of his life as a result of his War service.
He marched with 463-467 squadron on Anzac Days.
Ken was a very gentle man and father who spoke about his service when asked.
