Eva joined the Air Force as an Aircraftwoman in 1942, aged 21. She had grown up in Richmond, VIC. Her father, Alexander James Motteram, served in the 29th Infantry Battallion in WWI. Perhaps she was inspired by his service, or perhaps Eva simply wanted to lend her womanpower to the war effort.
In 1942 Eva married George Reginald Thomas and had 3 children. Eva died in 1990 in Dandenong.
