Address at the time of enlistment was given as C/- F. Smith of Kingsthorpe via Toowoomba, QLD.

Son of Richard Chapman Osbourne and Emily Osbourne nee Maxey of Bramhall Street, Cleethorps, Grimsby, England.

Commenced return to Australia on 23 March 1919 aboard HT Czar then transhipped to HT Dongala on 10 April 1919 at Alexandria for onward travel to Australia where he disembarked on 16 May 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane.

On 25 June 1932 Fred married Anna Louise Wrembeck in QLD
