Jack was the seventh of eight children of John Morris Moss (b1874 in Melbourne, Victoria) and Ada Agnes Bye (b1878 in Port Pirie, South Australia). John (a Hairdresser) and Ada married in Queenstown, Tasmania in 1898. In the early 1900s the family moved to Perth WA where John was a Hairdresser.
Jack worked in Donnybrook and Merredin as a Hairdresser before moving to Busselton in the late 1930s. He was a Band Member, playing the cornet, and a member of the Bussleton Fire Brigade. In 1941 Jack married Doris Frances Stinton (b1917 in Greenbushes WA) in Busselton WA. He enlisted in the RAAF in May 1941, and was a Leading Aircraftman (Service No:38627) attached to 8 Communications Unit when he was Discharged in December 1945.
Jack and Doris settled in Claremont, Fremantle WA where Jack worked as a Hairdresser until the early 1970s when they moved to Busselton WA. Jack worked as a Plasterer in Busselton. Doris died in 1982 and Jack in 2001.
