Obituary from The Age [Melbourne] 23 January 2025:
John has died, aged 100. A former CSIRO physicist, he kept his enquiring mind until the end and he read The Age every day.
He was predeceased by his wife Pixie and he will be missed by their sons Martin and David and the grandchildren.
John will be missed by his little sister Joan (98) and her family. He was predeceased by their older sister Patti and will be mourned by her family. Their parents, Charles and Paulina Cope, migrated to Australia from England after World War 1.
John died peacefully with family by his side.
