Corporal Albert Henry Wall (Service Nos:N58506/14404) initially enlisted in the ACMF on 21 February 1940, and was a Private attached to 1 Field Squadron RAE when he Discharged to enlist in the RAAF at No 2 Recruiting Centre Sydney on 8 April 1940. Aircraftman I Wall - mustered as Carpenter Rigger - was attached to No 1 Air Ambulance Unit (AAU). Corporal Wall served in the Middle East (15 January 1943 - 4 June 1944) - attached to RAF Station Heliopolis, and was attached to 10 Elementary Flying Training School (EFTS) at Discharge on 4 March 1945.
Albert was born in Northumberland, England in 1918, youngest of four children of James William Hall (b1883 in Northumberland, England) and Jane Elizabeth Smith (b1884 in Northumberland, England). James (a Bricklayer) and Jane (a Dressmaker) married in 1909 in Tynemouth, where they settled and raised their family. James left for Australia in 1912, arriving in Melbourne on board the Kaikoura, and was a Bricklayer in Sydney in 1916 when he enlisted in the AIF. Jane remained in England with the children until 1919, when she immigrated with the children, arriving in Sydney on board the Benalla. James and Jane settled in Sydney, where they raised their family and James was a Bricklayer.
Albert started an Apprenticeship as a Wood Machinist/Furniture Maker before transferring to Carpentry and Joinery. He was working in Sydney for AW Edwards Builder and Contractor in 1940 when he enlisted in the ACMF, then the RAAF. In 1942 in Sydney he married Mollie Marjorie West (b1922 in Sydney, New South Wales) - Mollie was working as a Typist in Sydney. Following his Discharge, Albert and Mollie settled in Sydney, where they raised their family and Albert was a Carpenter. They moved to Currawong in Shoalhaven in the 1970s - Albert was a Carpenter. Mollie died in 1997 and Albert in 2008.
