20 Jun 1916:	Embarked AIF WW1, Sapper, 10322, 10th Field Company Engineers, Embarked on HMAT 'A54' Runic from Melbourne on 20th June 1916, disembarking Plymouth, England on 10th August 1916.
23 Nov 1916:	Embarked AIF WW1, Sapper, 10322, 10th Field Company Engineers, Proceeded to France from Southampton, England.
9 Oct 1917:	Promoted AIF WW1, Lance Corporal, 10th Field Company Engineers
28 Jan 1918:	Honoured Military Medal, For bravery in the field.
28 Mar 1918:	Wounded AIF WW1, Lance Corporal, 10322, 10th Field Company Engineers, Gun shot wound to right thigh. 28th March 1918 - admitted to 3rd Canadian Stationary Hospital 1st April 1918 - transferred to England and admitted to 3rd Southern General Hospital, Bedford 15th April 1918 - transferred to 3rd Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford 15th May 1918 - discharged from 3rd Australian Auxiliary Hospital to No 3 Command Depot 17th May 1918 - admitted to Fovant Military Hospital 24th June 1918 - discharged to various training depots until Lance Corporal Oliver's embarkation for his return to Australia
