Born in 1897, Cedric Johnson grew up in Eastwood, NSW regularly going to the Church of England with his father Frederick Johnson. He was raised alongside his younger brother Ivon Johnson who was only 3 years younger. Cedric attended Sydney Technical High School between 1911-1917 achieving under average ranking of 26th in his class during his first year. However, Cedric excelled in engineering during his 4th year of High school.

After completing his 6 years of schooling he went war with the Army Medical Corps. Cedric was enlisted 2nd of July 1917as a Private(PTE) just before his 21st birthday with his little brother Ivon also enlisting at the age of 18.

He embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A72 Beltana 19th of January 1918, 6 months after his enlistment. He served on the Western Front in France.

He returend to Australia in September 1919 and was dischard in November the same year.

He passed away from unknown conditions(most likely old age) at an old age of 64 on the 23rd of December 1961.
