Son of John Uren and Elizabeth Cameron formerly Uren nee Kay of Lerida Station, Stamford Qnr, QLD.
6 December 1915 - enlisted at Townsville, QLD, with the 15th Battalion and with the rank of Private
8 August 1916 - wounded in action. Wound to the thigh
29 September 1916 - transferred to the 13th Machine Gun Company
23 March 1917 - promoted to Driver
31 March 1918 - tranferred to the 4th Machine Gun Battalion
12 May 1919 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Port Napier disembarking on 6 July 1919 at Sydney for onward travel to Brisbane
Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal
20 August 1919 - discharged at the 1st Military District
