Reginald Wilfred DOVEY was the son of Frederick George Harold DOVEY and Edith DOVEY (nee KILBURN). Frederick George Harold DOVEY, known as Harold, served in World War I and was serving in France when he was captured and taken as a Prisoner of War by the Germans in April 1917.
Reginald Wilfred DOVEY is also the nephew of Reginald Walter DOVEY, who served at Gallipoli, Egypt and the Western Front in the 4th Machine Gun Battalion and was Killed in Action in the woods near Hamel on 4 July 1918.
