The sixth of ten children, Dorothy was born in 1921 in Narrogin WA to Charles John Brinkworth (b1881 in Clare, South Australia) and Mary Ann Cecilia Turnbull (b1889 in Wyndham, New Zealand). Charles (a Farmer) and Mary married in Katanning in 1909 and by 1917 Charles was a Railways Employee with WAGR. An Assistant Station Manager and Station Manager, he and his family lived in Katanning, Coolgardie, Cuballing, Narrogin, Albany, Clackline, Northam and Perth WA.
Dorothy was in Mt Helena nr Northam WA in July 1943 when she enlisted in the RAAF (Service No:103979). She was an Aircraftwoman attached to 5 Embarkation Depot when she Discharged in March 1944. In 1945 Dorothy had a child to Thomas Bernard Sullivan (Service No:WX2368) and was cited in his Divorce that year.
In 1950 Dorothy married Gavin Currie (b1922 in Perth WA) - Gavin had served in the ACMF (Service No:W46760) and RAN (Service No:F4888) in WWII. Gavin was a Farmer and Bricklayer, and the couple lived in Albany and Perth before settling in Bunbury in the 1970s. Dorothy died in 1988.
