SHEPHERD.—Killed in action in France, on the 15th July, 1916, Private Francis Charles Shepherd (Frank), dearly loved eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Shepherd, Inglewood, and beloved brother of Agnes (Mrs. Bird), Archie (on active service), Donald, and Cecil, aged 25 years and 7 months.
This our Frank with a joyful mind,
Bore through life like a torch in flame,
And, falling, flung to the host behind,
"Play up! Play up! and play the game."
His God and country needed him.
