Heyman Wolfson was born in Koona, Russia. He was Jewish and worked as a Labourer. Hayman lived in Adelaide and enlisted on the 9th of August in 1915 to fight in the First World War. He embarked for war on the 18th of November 1915 and was wounded at Fromelles in July 1916. However, he recovered from this wound and returned to Australia in 1919 on April 13th. He fought with the 32nd Battalion.
