Born in 1918 in Albany WA, Milton was the second of seven children of Alfred Clarence Prior (b1885 in Albany WA) and Alice Marian Pimm (b1889 in Melbourne, Victoria). Alfred was a Labourer in Albany WA when he and Alice married in1915 in Midland, WA. Alice had arrived in Fremantle WA in 1897 with her parents and siblings on board the Innamincka. Alice's father had served in India with the Royal Engineers (1860 - 1880) and arrived in Melbourne, Victoria with his family on board the Rosetta in 1881. Alfred and Alice settled in Albany WA where Alfred was a Wool Merchant. In the early 1920s the family moved to Perth WA where Alfred was a Carrier.
Milton was working as a Warehouse Employee in Perth WA when he enlisted in the RAAF in 1941 (Aircraftman; Service No:29850) - he had previously served in the Militia as a Gunner (7th Hy Brigade) and Discharged to enlist in the RAAF. Milton was a Corporal (Flight and Electrical Mechanic) attached to 49 Operational Base Unit when he was Discharged in January 1946.
In 1942 Milton married Eileen Lydia Kelly (b1913 in Perth WA) - Eileen was a Nurse. Milton and Eileen settled in Perth WA where Milton was a Warehouse Employee and Salesman.Milton died in 1985 and Eileen in 1995.
