Broughton Vernon MUTTON was born in Parramatta on 22nd June 1919
His parents were Isaiah MUTTON & Mildred Alexis GOODALL who married in Sydney in 1907
He married Rachel Anne Cherry GILL (known as Wendy) in St Marks Church in Killara in 1944
He first served in the Sydney University Regiment from 1930 to 1940 & served in the Army Reserves from 13th September, 1943 to 13th May, 1944 and was then transferred to the Active list on 14th May, 1944 - he was appointed as a Flight Lieutenant in the RAAF on 14th May, 1944 and served with the 48 Operational Base Unit and was discharged on 17th October, 1946
Broughton died on 2nd August, 1988, late of Frenchs Forest and formerly of Goonellabah, NSW - his funeral was held in North Ryde and he has a plaque in the Garden of Remembrance at Rookwood

His brother Geoffrey Vernon MUTTON (SN NX34710) & (SN75013) also served during WW2 & was a Major in the 2nd/33rd Infantry Battalion & was discharged on 21st January, 1946
