"Mr. A. P. Lloyd has received advice that his sons Captain F. C. Lloyd, M.C., D.C.M., and Company Sergeant-major A. H. Lloyd, are returning from France by the Demosthenes, which is expected to arrive in Melbourne about September 9. His other sons Sergeants Victor K. Lloyd and N. VICTOR KINGSLEY LLOYD was born at Toowoomba, Queensland, on 27th January, 1894, the son of Mr. Arthur Pearce Lloyd and Mrs. Alma Mary Lloyd. He was educated at the Toowoomba Grammar School and Townsville Grammar School, entering the service of the Bank on 11th June, 1912, at Townsville. He was transferred in the following November to Brisbane.
Victor Lloyd enlisted as a private in the A.I.F. in October, 1914, and left Queensland with the First Divisional Ammunition Column on 22nd December, 1914. He was afterwards transferred to the 43rd Battery of Field Artillery, 4th Division, and promoted to corporal in February, 1915. He landed at Gallipoli with that unit in April, 1915.
For distinguished service on the peninsula he was mentioned in General Birdwood’s despatches, and received promotion to sergeant in June, 1915. After returning to Egypt he went on to France, where he completed service abroad amounting to four years and fifty-five days.
