Biography contributed by Steve Larkins

The youngest of three brothers, Lieutenant William Keith Seabrook was a telephonist of Petersham, New South Wales, Australia and serving in the Senior Cadets as a Second Lieutenant when he enlisted in the AIF on 1 August 1916, Commissioned as a Lieutenant and embarking on the 26th October 1916 with the 17th Reinforcements of the 17th Battalion.  Ominously all three Seabrook brothers were serving with 17 Battalion, Australian Imperial Force.  Committed to the Battle of Menin Road as part of the Third Ypres campaign,  all three were killed together as the assault exploited into Polygon Wood. At the time of their deaths, George was aged 25, Theo was aged 24 and William was aged 21. Theo and George are commemorated on the Menin Gate at Ypres while William is buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, a hospital cemetery SW of Ypres.

Their father,  William George Seabrook, of 64 Margaret Street Petersham was listed as next of kin.

Mr. W. Seabrook, of Petersham, has received information that his eldest son, Private G. R. Seabrook, and his younger son, Lieutenant Keith Seabrook, have been killed. The former was a master-painter, and enlisted in June, 1916. Another brother, Private T. L. Seabrook, was wounded. Each of these casualties occurred on September 20.
