War Service/Promotions: Arrived in Plymouth, Devon, England, 25 September 1916. Proceeded overseas to Etaples, France per SS Victoria on 16 November 1916. On 3 March 1917 appointed Lance Corporal; Promoted to Corporal 1 May 1917. Promoted to T/Sgt, 4 June 1917, then Sergeant 18 September 1917; To be Temp/CQMS 15 October 1917, Belgium. Proceeded on leave to England 20 October 1917, rejoined from leave 1 November 1917. Promoted in the Field to Company Quartermaster Sergeant (C.Q.M.S.), 5 January 1918. Proceeded on leave to Paris, France, 6 February 1918 until 25 February 1918. In Field until 3 October 1918, then on leave until 21 October 1918. On 26 May 1919 he left Le Havre, France to England, where he stayed until he was demobilized 9 December 1919.
Fate: Returned to Australia per HT Borda, 9 December 1919. He married Maria Pomeroy Hungerford, 5 June 1926, North Perth Methodist Church, Perth, WA.
