Corporal Sydney Collis no 814 was my Grandmother’s Brother. My grandmother Maud Robinson ( née Collis) was his half sister. Her husband was Frederick John Thomas Robinson no 1602
Sydney was born in 1896, he died on 2nd May 1972. At this time he was living in Heidelberg in Melbourne. I am unsure where his remains are. They do not appear to be in Yarram cemetery.
He was married to Mimette Irene May Tanaka ( her origin is likely to be from Trinidad and Tobago.).the family nickname for her was”Minnie”. Mimette deceased in 1962 at 59 yrs
The couple had one child named Agnes Thelma, born in 1923 who died in 1968.
It is unclear but Sydney George Collis worked at Point Cook from 1921 to 1945, possibly in a Military Role.
