Biography contributed by Chris Buckley

Aircraftwoman Mildred Moya Aldridge (Service No:95581) enlisted in the RAAF on 6 May 1942 and was attached to 1 Personnel Depot (Staff) when she was Discharged on 6 August 1946.

Born in 1923 in Echuca Victoria, Millie was the fifth of eleven children of Richard Arthur Aldridge (b1879 in Sussex, England) and Annie Cope (b1895 in Nottinghamshire, England). Richard (a Seaman) and Annie (a Silk Patternmaker in a Lace Factory) married in 1915 in Nottinghamshire and by 1914 had immigrated to Victoria where Richard was a Cook when he enlisted in the AIF (Driver; Service No:1381). Richard and Annie settled in Melbourne where Richard was a Chauffeur before moving to Tallangatta where he was a Chef.

Millie was in Melbourne in 1947 when she married James (Jim) Alexander Kennedy (b1923 in Bright, Victoria) - Jim had served in the Army in WWII. Millie and Jim settled in Coburg, Victoria where Jim worked as a Fitter and as a Plumber/Welder. Jim died in 1990 and Millie in 2018.
