Francis Drake CULLEY was born at Narrandera, New South Wales on 31st July, 1897

His parents were Henry Langlands CULLEY & Mary Jane SIMPSON

He had served for 3 years in the Citizens Forces before he enlisted in Melbourne on the 20th October, 1916 & embarked on the RMS Osterley on 14th February, 1917 with the 2nd Field Artillery Brigade, 24th reinforcements

Francis was wounded on 23rd April, 1918 with a gun shot wound to his left leg

He was Killed in Action in France on 17th October, 1918 and was initially buried in the Busigny Cemetery and later transferred to the Busigny Communal Cemetery Extension, Plot 8, Row C, Grave 56

His brother John Simpson CULLEY (SN 567) also served in WW1 in the 6th Light Horse Regiment and returned to Australia in November 1915

Another brother Henry Langlands CULLEY (SN 13163) served in WW1 and returned to Australia in 1919
