Flight Lieutenant John Henry Bullock (Service No:293135) enlisted in the RAAF on 3 April 1941 and was a Pilot Officer when he embarked from Sydney for the Middle East on 2 September 1941. He served in the Middle East with HQ 214 Group, 112 Squadron, HQ RAF, RAF Station Azizia, HQ Nataf. In 1945 Flight Lieutenant Bullock was Mentioned in Despatches for Distinguished Service. He embarked from the Middle East for Melbourne on  27 February 1945 and was Discharged on 21 September 1945.

Born in 1904 at Claremont in Fremantle WA, John was the second of five children of John Aiton Bulloch (b1867 in Glasgow, Scotland) and Emily Debus (b1874 in Redforn, NSW). John Snr was a Clerk in 1887 when he immigrated to Sydney NSW on board the Ormuz. John Snr worked as a Clerk in NSW and in 1897 moved to WA where he enlisted with the 2nd WA Mounted Infantry (Private; Service No:57) for the Boer War. In 1901 in Sydney NSW, John and Emily married and settled at Claremont in Fremantle WA where John was an Estate Agent, Newsagent, and Wood Yard and Produce Business Owner.

John served with the Naval Reserve from 1918 to 1921 as a Leading Hand, and was a Car Salesman in Perth in 1925 when he married Elsie May Pritchard (b1906 in Yorkshire, England). John and Elsie divorced in 1935 (their two sons took their mother's maiden name) and John - a Garage Manager - remarried in Perth in 1938 to Marjorie Anastace Joan Van Zuilecom (b1912 in Mt Barker, WA) - Joan was working as a Secretary in Perth. Following his Discharge from the RAAF, John and Marjorie settled in Northam WA where John was an Agent. Both John and Marjorie died in 1992 - John in May and Marjorie in December.
