Born in 1925 in Midland WA, Bill was the seventh of twelve children of William George Brady (b1882 in Dongara, WA) and Hannah Maud Brandis (b1895 in Greenough, WA). William Snr (a Labourer) and Hannah married in 1913 in Dongara, WA and lived in Greenough where William worked as a Farm Hand before settling in Midland Junction in the 1920s. Bill was a Farm Hand in Midland Junction before enlisting, and in 1946 in Midland WA married his first wife Stella Ruby Watters (b1926 in Sawyers Valley, WA) - Stella was working in Midland as a Waitress. Bill and Stella settled in Midland Junction where Bill worked as a Fitter's Assistant at the Midland Railway Workshops from 1947 to 1970. In 1982 in Kalamunda WA, following his divorce from Stella, Bill remarried to Joan Margaret Watters (nee Selkirk; b1937 in Perth, WA).
