George was the eldest of seven children of George Nichols White (b1894 in Northampton Wa) and Helena Bridget Elizabeth Hennessy (b1890 in Toodyay, WA). George Snr (a Teamster) and Helena (a Farmer) married in Goomalling, WA in 1917. They settled at Grange Clare Farm in Goomalling where George worked as a Teamster and Farmer. George Snr served in WWI (Private; Service No:6904) and WWII (Private (Service No:27633).

George was a Mechanic when he enlisted in the RAAF in May 1940 and was a Leading Aircraftman (Service No:16467) when he was Discharged in September 1945. George was imprisoned for nine months in 1945 for assault - HMP Yatala, South Australia.

In 1942 George married Mary Gladys Freda Twine (b1913 in Northam, WA). Following George's release from prison, the couple lived in Wundowie, Perth and Midland where George worked as a Fitter. By 1958 the couple had separated - George returned to Goomalling where he died in 1966. Mary worked as Matron at Padbury Boy's Farm School in Stoneville, then as a Collector in Midland before settling in Perth where she died in 1994.
