A SOLDIER FALLS
A COOLAC HERO.
A cable was received on Tuesday by Mr. Alexander McManus, of Coolac, from the Minister for Defence announcing the sad news that his son, Private Albert McManus, had fallen fighting; in the trenches in France. The young hero was a Coolac native, 24 years of age— a happy youngster, typical of what is best in the Australians. He went away to fight the good fight last year— at
Easter time he was home at Coolac on final leave. He had been in the trenches in France since last November. Mr McManus has another son, Billy, fighling in the desert in Egypt— younger than the brave lad who gave his life in France for the defence of the mothers and daughters of Australia, as well us those of France and other countries. Mr and Mrs McManus have ihe sympathy of everybody in tho irreparable loss of their gallant son.
