Archibald Graham Reed was born circa 1870, the second youngest of 8 children. His parents were William Reed and Jane Mary Graham Reed nee Craig who emigrated from County Armagh, Ireland. 

There is no record of Archibald having married. His sister, Elizabeth McGie, was recorded as his next of kin in his enlistment papers.
