living at  River Darling, Pooncarie, NSW.

On enlisting John lived at Greenvale, River Darling, Pooncarie c/o PO, NSW

Described on enlisting as 31 years old; single; 5' 6 1/4" tall; 139 lbs
fair complexion; blue eyes; brown hair; Church of England.

21/2/1916       Enlisted in Mildura, Victoria
                       Completed medical - fit for service

2/4/1916         Commanding Officer appointed John to 17th reinforcements,
                       6th Battalion, Broadmeadows Camp

4/4/1916         Embarked from Melbourne on board HMAT Euripides A14

31/5/1916       Embarked at Alexandria
12/6/1916       Disembarked into Plymouth, England

29/6/1916       Discharged from Military Hospital, to Bhutport Barracks, Tidsworth,
                       England

11/7/1916       marched out to 2nd Training Battalion - Perham Downs

29/8/1916       proceeded overseas to France

14/9/1916       proceeded to join unit in Etaples, France

15/9/1916       taken on strength from reinforcements into 6th Battalion, in the field
