Many War Nurses Disabled
Nearly 60 women are among the 3000-odd members in Australia of the Totally and Permanently Disabled Soldiers' Association.
All are former Army nurses who, because of war-caused disabilities, are unable to work. Some branches have granted them honorary membership. The two women of WA's 270 members are Sister Mary Teasdale, now in Hollywood Repatriation General Hospital, and Sister Kathleen Ryan, both veteran nurses of World War I. A third member, Sister E. Chadwick, died a few months ago.

76 Nursed Anzacs
The Anzacs who stormed the cliffs of Gallipoli 33 years ago are a live memory to former Army nursing sister 76-year-old Mary Nicholson Teasdale. She nursed the original Anzacs at Egypt, Cairo and Port Said. Now a patient at Hollywood General Repatriation Hospital, she smiled reminiscently at the mention of Anzac Day. Her great regret: She will not be able to attend the Dawn Service. Her opinion: 'The boys of World War II are treated far better than those of World War I, especially the disabled men.
