Biography contributed by Chris Buckley

Warrant Officer Charles Sanderson Keyser (Service No:427709) enlisted in the RAAF on 13 September 1942. He was attached to 466 Squadron when he was Discharged on 21 November 1945.

Born in 1924 at Wagin WA, Charles was the second of three children of Osmond Detwiler Keyser (b1899 in Albany, WA) and Amelia Euphemia Georgina Warren (b1905 at Chapman nr Geraldton, WA). Osmond (a Telegraphist with the PMGs Department) and Amelia married in 1918, following Osmond's return from WWI (AIF; Service No:53650). Osmond (a Telegraphist with the PMGs Department for eighteen years) and Amelia lived in Geraldton, Perth and Mullewa. In 1935 Osmond joined the WAGR and the family lived in Harvey and Mullewa where Osmond was a Shed Storeman. Osmond served with the RAAF in WWII (Service No:38856) and by 1963 he and Amelia had moved from Mullewa to Greenmount at Mundaring WA where Osmond was a Clerk.

Charles worked as a Clerk, and in Bunbury in 1948 married Estelle Warren (b1929 in Perth, WA). Charles and Estelle lived in Nannup - where Charles was involved in a motor vehicle accident in 1952 - and by 1958 had settled in Perth WA where they raised their family and Charles worked as a Clerk. Charles died in March 2015 and Estelle in August the same year. In his Obituary (Legacy), Charles was described as 'a modest man of strength and character'.
