Leading Aircraftman Henry Roy Love (Service No:134987) enlisted in the RAAF on 15 June 1943. He was attached to 100 Squadron when he was Discharged on 6 February 1946. Siblings John (Sergeant; Service No:23451) and William (Signalman: Service Nos:QX45215/Q1721) also served in WWII.
Born in 1910 at St Helens in Ipswich QLD, Henry was the third of six children of Henry Charles Love (b1878 in Brisbane, QLD) and Jane Goostrey (b1880 in Brisbane, QLD). Henry Snr (a Labourer) and Jane married in 1901 in Brisbane QLD and lived in Acacia Ridge and Ipswich where Henry Snr was a Labourer before settling in Wynnum, QLD where he was a Carpenter.
Henry was a Telegraph Worker in 1923 when he enlisted in the Militia (Service No:10/124990) and by 1932 was a Postal Worker when he married Florence May Horton (b1910 in Dallarnil, QLD). Henry and Florence settled at Nambucca Heads, NSW where Henry was a Mail Officer. By 1949 Henry and Florence had settled in Wynnum, Brisbane QLD where Henry was a Mail Officer until his death in 1953. Florence died in 2000.
