Robert Condon’s plane was shot down on 28 August 1942 off the coast of Italy. He survived the war, spending the rest of the war in POW camps in Italy and Germany. The flying trousers worn by Robert Condon is in the Australian War Memorial. https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/C1268331 (www.awm.gov.au)
