Leading Aircraftman Reginald Roy Bryan (Service No:46390) served as an Able Seaman with the RANVR (1926 - 1930), and enlisted in the RAAF on 12 February 1942 at No 4 Recruiting Centre Perth as an Aircraftman I - mustered as Flight Rigger. LAC Bryan was attached to 25 Squadron at Discharge on 29 November 1945. Younger brother Ron and half brothers Ray and Neil also served in WWII.
Reg was born in Fremantle, Western Australia in 1908, eldest of two children of John Thomas Bryan (b1881 in Perth, Western Australia) and Ethel May Caple (b1888 in Fremantle, Western Australia). John (a Bottler) and Ethel married in 1907 in Fremantle, where they settled and raised their family and John was a Tramways Motorman until his death in 1911. Ethel remarried in 1927 to Robert Alexander Gray (b1885 in Bairnsdale, Victoria). Robert (a divorced father of one son) worked as a Wharf Labourer and Deck Hand in Melbourne, and following his Divorce, moved to Perth where he was a Driver and Labourer. Robert and Ethel married in 1927 and settled in Fremantle, where they raised their family and Robert was a Wharf Labourer.
Reg worked as a Storeman and Packer for D&J Fowler Ltd Furniture Factory Warehouse, and in 1939 in Fremantle married Jean Sinclair (b1916 in Fremantle, Western Australia) - Jean was working as a Shop Assistant. Reg and Jean settled in Fremantle, where they raised their family and Reg was a Storeman and Packer, and Assistant until retirement. Reg died in 1980 and Jean in 2005.
