William was the only child of William John Boden (b1887 in London, England) and Agnes Hubert (b1898 in London, England). William Snr (a Book Binder in London) and Agnes married in 1925 in Perth, WA. William Snr served in the AIF in WWI (Private; Service No:7216) - he was a Book Binder in Perth in 1914 and a Carter when he enlisted in October 1916. William Snr and Agnes settled in Perth WA where William Snr worked as a Linesman.

In May 1944 William Jnr enlisted in the RAAF and was a Warrant Officer (Service No:442152) attached to 99 Squadron when he was Discharged in July 1946.

William was a Truck Driver in Perth WA in 1947 when he married Shirley Joy Smith (b1929 in Perth WA). The couple settled in perth WA where William Snr was a Truck Driver and Maintenance Worker. Shirley died in 1965 and William in 1974.
