Biography

25 April 2015 - I am yet to find details about Harry Cameron's life before his war service records.  Harry was the brother of Christina Lucy Cameron, who was the mother of my father Malcolm Alexander Wallace.  - Sandra Thorman (nee Wallace)

06 June 2015 - Harry Cameron was my grandfather's older brother. Harry was one of 3 brothers that served in WW1. My father had some photos of Harry which I intend to add. My uncle, Rod Cameron visited Harry's grave in France a few years ago - Gary Cameron

"LATE PTE. H. E. CAMERON.

Pte. Harry Ewen Cameron, second son of the  late Mr. D. and Mrs. Cameron, of Stockport, was  killed in action in France on July 7. He enlisted  in April, 1916, and about six months later left  for the front. The deceased soldier was born at  Balaklava in July, 1881. He spent several years  in Wallaroo, and later his family moved to Stockport. At both towns he was highly respected.  Flags were flown half-mast at Stockport and  Wallaroo in his memory. Two brothers enlisted,  one has returned and been discharged, and another is still on active service." - from the Adelaide Observer 24 Aug 1918 (nla.gov.au)
