Son of J A Latta, PO, Shepparton, Victoria

Pte. W. T. Latta Killed.
Mr J. A. Latta, of Cemetery road, Shepparton, received the sad notification (through the Rev. N. D. Herring) from the Defence authorities, to the effect that his son, Pte W. T. Latta, had been killed in action in France on April 25th. Pte W. T. Latta, who would have been 21 years of age in July next, had been on service for slightly over two years and was a  member of the 58th Batt., A.I.F. He was born at Pine Lodge, and had lived in this district up to the time of his enlistment. A brother, Pte John Latta, also on active service, is a
transport driver in France. This latter soldier was one of those who took part in the landing by the Anzacs at Gallipoli.
