Leading Aircraftman Francis Patrick Hegarty (Service No:84651) enlisted in the RAAF on 15 April 1944 and was attached to 4 Transport and Movements Office when he as Discharged on 12 March 1946.
Born in 1926 in Northam WA, Frank was the fifth of nine children of James (Tom) Thomas Hagerty (b1896 in Northam, WA) and Margaret Dominica Brennan (b1896 in Liverpool, NSW). Tom (a Cleaner with WAGR Locomotives Branch) and Margaret married in 1916 in Northam, WA. They lived in Northam, Kalgoorlie and Fremantle where Tom worked for WAGR as a Cleaner, Fireman and Engine Driver.
Frank worked for WAGR as a Fireman and following his marriage in 1955 to Brenda Joan, worked as a Farm Hand at Minnivale and Koolanooka. In 1963 Frank and Brenda settled in Fremantle WA where Frank was a Labourer. Frank died in 2003.
