Corporal Yule Elsie Bensley (Service No:99163) enlisted in the RAAF on 29 April 1942 at No 3 Recruiting Centre Brisbane as an Aircraftwoman I - mustered as Clerk General. Corporal Bensley was attached to the Directorate of Air Transport, Allied Air Forces (Statistics), and in 1944 Commanding Officer Colonel Elsmore wrote 'I desire to commend Corporal Bensley for the loyal, capable and unselfish service she has rendered while on duty with DAT' (NAA). Corporal Bensley was attached to 5 Transport and Movement Office at Discharge on 20 November 1945.

Yule was born in Stanthorpe, QLD in 1923, eldest of four children of James Bensley (b1894 in Ipswich, QLD) and Kathleen Helen Dewar (b1902 in Brisbane, QLD). James was a Carpenter in Brisbane when he enlisted in the AIF in 1915, and following his Diacharge, he and Kathleen married in 1922 in Brisbane, where they settled and raised their family. James was a Master Builder/Carpenter, and also served in the RAAF in WWII (Service No:77490).

Yule was working in Brisbane as a Stenotypist for MJ Bush & Co when she enlisted in the RAAF in 1942. Following Discharge, Yule was married in 1945 in Brisbane to Roland Bernard Farmilo (b1913 in Auckland, New Zealand) - Roland served in the New Zealand Army (Service No:37490). Yule and Roland settled in New Zealand, where they raised their family and Roland was a Farmer. Roland died in 1993 and Yule in 2006.
