Leading Aircraftman John Hamilton Lamb (Service No:147524) enlisted in the RAAF on 29 February 1944 as an Aircraftman I at 1 Recruiting Centre Melbourne - mustered as General Hand. Promoted to LAC on 29 February 1944 he served in Morotai (2 April 1945 - 16 February 1946) and was attached to 9 Transport and Movements Office at Discharge on 7 March 1946.

Jack was born in Burrumbeet, Victoria in 1925, eldest of three children of Walter Hamilton Lamb (b1878 at Fyansford, Victoria) and Clarice Tomkins (b1904 in Beaufort, Victoria0. Walter served in WWI (Private; Service No:8230) and was a Farmer at Belmont in 1925 when he and Clarice married in Ballarat. Walter and Clarice settled in Burrumbeet where they raised their family and Walter was a Farmer until his death in 1931. Clarice remarried in 1933 to Alfred John Lugg.

Jack was a Process Worker for C Mott (Manufacturer and General Engineer) in Ballarat prior to enlisting in the RAAF, and following Discharge he worked in Melbourne as a Wood Machinist. Jack was in Ballarat in 1954 when he married Valerie Howard (b1932 in Melbourne, Victoria) - Valerie was a Factory Worker in Ballarat. Jack and Valerie settled in Ballarat where they raised their family and Jack worked as a Machinist. Jack died in 2009 and Valerie in 2022.
