Leading Aircraftman Edwin Lloyd Dival (Service No:45783) enlisted in the RAAF on 8 October 1941 at No 4 Recruiting Centre Perth as an Aircraftman I posted to 14 Squadron Pearce - mustered as Fitter, re mustered as Flight Rigger. Promoted to Leading Aircraftman on 1 April 1943, LAC Dival served with 7 Aircraft Depot (AD) Tocumwal and 12 Aircraft Repair Depot (ARD) before serving with 21 Squadron in the Northern Territory (Darwin and Fenton). In 1945 LAC Dival served with 82 Wing HQ in Morotai and Balikapan, and was Discharged on 15 March 1946.

Edwin was born in Woodanilling via Katanning, Western Australia in 1923, second of six children of Stanley (Stan) Victor Dival (b1897 in Brighton, England ) and Ruth Emily Tanner (b1897 in Parkes, New South Wales). Stan immigrated with his parents and siblings in 1911, arriving in Fremantle on board the Omrah, and was a Farm Hand in Woodanilling in 1915 when he enlisted in the AIF (Private; Service No:14651). Stan was a Disabled Veteran in 1921 when he and Ruth married, settling in Woodanilling via Katanning where they raised their family and Stan was a Disabled Veteran. In the mid 1930s Stan and Ruth moved their family to Perth, where Stan was a Storekeeper/Grocer, and was President of the cricket club and the North Perth RSL Sub Branch, and Vice President of the WA Retail Grocers' Association. Stan served with the ACMF in WWII and was an Ordnance Branch Clerk with the Department of the Army.

Edwin was an Apprentice Fitter and Turner with Stocker Engineering Perth in 1941 when he enlisted in the RAAF. Following his Discharge, he lived with his mother in Perth and worked as a Fitter and Turner. In the early 1950s he married Phyllis Mary, and lived in Kalamunda, South Perth and Manning, where he worked as a Fitter and Turner. Edwin and Phyllis were living in Brentwood in Perth when they died - Edwin in 2020 and Phyllis in 2021.
