A true gentleman

I worked alongside Sergeant Major Norman (Norm) Sicree at Albert Park Barracks mid 1968 until February 1970.
I was a national serviceman, RAE Sapper working for the Directorate of Equipment MGO Branch located at Albert Park Barracks Melbourne. Sar-Major Sicree (also RAE) was the right-hand man assisting (RAEME) Lt.Col. Graeme Allen who headed up the group responsible for the technical design and procurement of all wheeled vehicles, small ships and light aircraft used by the Australian Army. I believe Norm had come to D Equipment from the 21st Engineers Construction Squadron at Puckapunyal.
I found Norm to be a softly spoken, serious, but friendly man with traits of compassion and humility, one of natures true gentlemen. I am a better person for knowing him. He would now have long since passed, I was in my early 20s and Norm would have been in his mid to late 50s. RIP sir.
