16 August 1916 - PRESENTATION TO A SOLDIER
A presentation of a gold band ring was made on Saturday by the Eaglehawk lawn party to Private M. H. Ripper, only son of Mrs. Ripper, of California Gully, at his mother's residence, who has left for the front. Miss L. Bray made the presentation, and the recipient fittingly responded.
14 June 1917 - Mrs. Ripper, of Butler street, California Gully, received a cablegram yesterday from her son. Private M. H. Ripper, that he had arrived in England on furlough, and that he intended journeying to Cornwall. Private Ripper also stated that he is in the best of health
