Add my storyBiography contributed by Stephen Brooks
His younger brother, 167 Private Leslie Wright Mazlin, also 15th Battalion AIF, who enlisted at the same time, had been killed in action 30 April, 1915, age 21. They had consecutive regimental numbers.
There was an extreme amount of confusion in official reports about where each brother was buried at Gallipoli, due to the fact they were in the same Battalion and had similar regimental numbers. It was eventually resolved, and today Norman has a plaque in the Embarkation Pier Cemetery, which states, 'believed to be buried in this cemetery'.
A third brother 624 Pte. Frederick Robert Mazlin 5th Light Horse Regiment AIF also served on Gallipoli, was evacuated with debility and returned to Australia 3 September 1915.
