Nina was the eldest of five children of James Xavier Joseph Reginald Brady (b1883 in Cobbedah, NSW) and his second wife Dorothy Maud Emma Mounds (b1894 in Lincolnshire, England). James had married Josephine Cornell (b1888 in Bega, NSW) in 1912 in Moree, NSW. Following her death in 1914, James moved to Warwick, QLD and enlisted in the AIF in February 1916. He was a Private (Service No:456) when he married Dorothy in St Wulfrum's Grantham, Lincolnshire. James and Dorothy settled in Sydney, NSW where they raised their family and James worked as a Carpenter.

Nina enlisted in the RAAF in May 1941 (Flight Sergeant; Service No:92377) and was attached to RAAF Station Garbutt in Townsville, QLD when she was Discharged in February 1945. In September 1944 Nina married Valentine Gerald Greer (b1918 in Maryborough, QLD) - Valentine was also serving in the RAAF (Sergeant; Service No:23342).

Nina and Valentine settled in Brisbane, QLD before moving to Redcliffe - Valentine worked as a Salesman, Foreman and Manager. Valentine died in 1976 and Nina in 2012.
